Substation Operations Specialist

As a Substation Operations Specialist, you will:
Provide the regions with technical support relating to daily substation operations and troubleshooting. Continually monitor, evaluate, and audit substation operations, and based on this review, establishes new and revised operations requirements, methods, and procedures for improving substation operations. Research topics, prepares presentation syllabuses, perfects presentations and delivers finished classroom instruction to Substation Operations personnel of all levels, including Chief Operators, Journeymen and Apprentices of all levels. Act as spokesperson for assigned program management activities, and serves as program liaison with other internal entities to ensure consistency of interpretation and implementation of the programs. Assist with the administration of substation operations apprenticeship program as a management representative or alternate; attends meetings; formulates policy; conducts step examinations; evaluates apprentice skill levels; provides recommendations into staffing/location assignment decisions. Establish control, data, and indication requirements for operation of substations. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSA qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Experience conducting analytical and evaluative studies of an organization's substation operations to provide technical interpretation, instructions, training, or recommend improvements to regulatory guidelines, operating instructions and work standards including the switching and tagging program to ensure that high-voltage substation workers operate in a safe, reliable and compliant manner. Technical Documentation - Knowledge of procedures for developing technical and operational support documentation. Writing - Recognizes or uses correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicates information (for example, facts, ideas, or messages) in a succinct and organized manner; produces written information, which may include technical material, that is appropriate for the intended audience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
