Overview: Responsible for providing patient-oriented service in a clinical or front office setting; performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of patient care, including greeting and checking in patients, answering phones, collecting patient co-pays and insurance payments, processing paperwork, and performing other front office duties as required in a fast-paced, customer-oriented clinical environment.
Schedule: Averages 35-36 hours a week, Sunday 9am-5pm, Wednesday 8am-5pm, Friday 6:30am-8pm, and Saturday 11:15am-8pm.
The first two weeks of training require full time Monday thru Friday, 8am - 5pm.
This is not optional.

Essential Functions:
o Greets patients and directs them to appropriate departments o Answers multiple phone lines; directs calls and takes messages as needed o Verifies patient information and insurance eligibility; collects payments o Directs patients to complete forms and processes patient-related paperwork o Informs provider's assistant of no shows and cancellations o Makes follow-up appointments for patients and calls patients to confirm appointments o Contacts "bumped" patients and reschedules appointments as appropriate o Performs various front-office duties in a fast-paced, customer-oriented clinical environment, as assigned.
Education: High school graduation or GED.
Experience in medical reception and customer service preferred.
Strong customer service skills required.

o Ability to type 25 wpm.
o Ability to concurrently perform multiple tasks.
o Skill required to enter patient data into EHR and navigate computer applications i.
EPIC, Intranet, Outlook and the Lab and Radiology Information System.
o Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
o Ability to react calmly, professionally, effectively in demanding or emergency situations.
o Ability to read spell, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
o Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and written.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
